PLOT:
The story
begins in the USA at the time of US prohibitions period, the city of Chicago of
1929. Detective Mulligan with the help of his intelligencer successfully completed
his mission , which was connected with
the eliminating of an illegal drinking establishment, owned by Spats" Colombo,
a mobster from Chicago. And two young musicians , Joe and Jerry, saxophonist and
contrabassist , who were without any job in that time had to wander around the
city and one day they just saw the moment of assassination of Mulligan’s
intelligencer – and they had to escape from this place from the massive powers
of gangsters, so the had become the witnesses of a murder. Without any idea,
Jerry and Joe had to transforms their persons into female ones, changing their
appearance and bio, becoming Daphne and Josephine . The were hired as a jazz
members to the touring jazz orchestra, consisting of young ladies. Sweet Sue
and Her Society Syncopators started their tour with the map’s point to visit –
Florida, to the hotel of Ritz. During their adventure by the train to the
southern state , they met Sugar "Kane"
Kowalczyk, the leader of vocal troop of this orchestra. Joe (Josephine) felt in
love with this pretty young girl and knew , that she wanted to find the man of
brave and money in Florida, in order to marry him. The jazz crew stayed in a
hotel, and giving jazz performances every evening . Joe, with the help of hotel
administrator impersonated himself as a Shell Oil Junior, an oil tycoon, just
to attract Sugar’s attention and he did and they had some sweet relationships. Osgood
Fielding III, an old millionaire also felt in love – in Daphne ( who was
actually Jerry ). One evening they had a pair-date, and stunned with such
controversial situation Joe and Jerry had to relocated and planned their future
actions – and Sugar with Osgood had to stay in the restaurant to dance all day
long . And the next time their pair-date was on the board of a marvelous cruise
liner . Sugar Kane cured Joe from the “disease” , which stopped him in the
communication with the women , on the board of this beautiful Fielding’s
machine. Osgood wanted Daphna to marry him , and Jerry had to accept his
proposal. And the next day the hotel became the gathering point to all the
mafia from the USA. Joe and Jerry had to escape, because Colombo and his dogs found them and followed by the gangster gang ,
Jerry and Joe had to see another murder – the murder of Colombo. And so, they
were attacked by the Godfather of US mafia - "Little Bonaparte". Joe
, as an oil magnet had to say good-bye to Sugar and rapidly escaped from this
place with the help of an old Osgood. Joe had to uncover his secret to Sugar
and they finally gave words of love to each other and the heroes used Osgood’s cutter
to save themselves. In the epilogue , Jerry was ready to open his “little
secret”, saying that he was a man , and the answer of Osgood was, that nobody’s
perfect and the heroes flew away.
Billy
Wilder, the film director could create a real masterpiece , this film is a
unique USA example of the film beauty, the mastery of acting , jokes and funny
actions, so smooth life stories. Each moment of “ Some Like It Hot” film is an
undisputed classic today.Six of his screenplays were nominated for Oscars
between 1941-1950. Three of his eight Best Director nominations came during
this period. Billy Wilder claimed the American Dream; he was successfully
playing by his own rules. And such rules were the greatest things of his life.
The film
was such a big success - thank to superior acting of the three main performers.
Tony Curtis as Joe makes a parody of the
man of kind heart – the man of act and strong emotion. Jack Lemmon with the
role of Jerry( Daphne ), played brilliantly with all his man’s humor in a appearance
of a woman . He also had a wonderful co-operation with Wilder (7 movies, including
'The Apartment'). And of course, Marilyn Monroe. The woman of so extremely acting
clarity Sensual.With all her charm and sensitivity – with the help of her
acting the stereotype of “blonde woman” was born, but in that time – such woman
were deprived of banality and vulgarity, dirt and frank evil – thanks to this
woman. This film can cause only positive
thoughts and ideas, as it’s a Foundation
of the American cinema – the cinema of live people, with their emotions and
thoughts, their wins and fails, with love and sincere dedication to the world
of peoples’ hearts and minds.
