The time
for Strickland to uncover the veil of mistery over his works had come and he was
ready to show them to the narrator. And the narrator was admired by these
paintings – the power of the Universal Mind was visible on these canvases, as
the pattern of life was inside Strickland’s body and mind and these powers strangled and poisoned artist’s soul. The
narrator had known, that the last days of his life, Strickland spent on Tahiti .The
people told him, that Charles travelled from Paris to Marcel , without any
money, and was suppressed by the unknown criminal , he had to use fake papers
and escape to Australia ( he was hired as
a common worker ) and then he went to Tahiti. Local people thought, the
he was just a typical hobo, and they were upset, that they had to interest to
his pictures , as at the day of his death and worldwide popularity , the prices
on them were on the top level. An old Tahitian woman found a beautiful young
girl for him, a native citizen of that place, named Ata – they were relatives. Soon
after the short ceremony of wedding, they came deeply through the forest to
settle down and live a quiet life. The future several years were perfect for
them, they had a child ,and Ata lived a life without giving the artist some
troubles, leaving him for his life’s duty – to be an artist.
